Offices are mine fields for the curious small child. If you have small children, or if children visit,
you will need to child-proof your office. Secure the cords from you window blinds. Put dangerous
things in locked boxes, locked cabinets, or locked drawers. Take a look around your office for the
small things little ones might swallow, things that are poison, or other items that could cause injury;
for example:
- Rubber bands
- Paperclips
- Glue
- Pushpins
- Cigarette lighters or matches
- Razor blades or X-acto knives
- Drafting or drawing tools
- Scissors
- Paper cutter
You will need to teach small children that your work computer is not a play computer, or you may want
to put it where small children can't reach it; CD drawers are too tempting. If small children can
reach your keyboard you may find that documents get seriously edited when you leave the room - kids
love to push buttons.
